Milestones

I suppose that gave Disraeli the idea of making Queen Vic Empress of India?
Though there was also the problem that her daughter Vicky was married to Wilhelm's son Friederich,
and when he became Emperor, she'd become Empress, upstaging her mother -
who was not amused.

I agree! Lets not even touch that one!
Too late! Much too late!

@Barbaria1 'touched' the subject already years ago!

I think this qualifies as a milestone. If it doesn't, then shoot me!

My buddy has the same birthday as me in early January. However, instead of my 73, he turned 96. We played golf in a foursome last Tuesday. We two rode together and I kept score. I can attest to the accuracy and the fact that he never takes a mulligan. We played from the red tees (the most forward - with age, you hit a lot shorter).
On the second nine, I shot, for me, a quite respectable 45 or nine strokes over par, averaging a boogie on each hole. My buddy, at 96, shot an honest 38! - two over par! I don't expect to be alive at 96, let alone able to make it to a course, let alone trying to play at all!
That was a milestone!

Works for me!

Well, the 25th of January has rolled around again, and you all know what that means. The Scotopliles among us will gorge on haggis, nips, and single malts. This year, though my admiration for Mr. Burns is extreme, I shall refrain from giving an address to the "Immortal Memory." I feel my "A Lowland Adventure" story is an adequate tribute.

Oops:eek: Scotophile doesn't mean a lover of all things Scottish, but of darkness! On second thought, isn't that the same as Scottish?

This evening Seong-Jin Cho premiered a newly discovered ‘Allegro in D’ by Mozart in Salzburg, and online on DG Stage (Deutsche Gramophon)
