Please don't troll. It's extremely unattractive, and unwelcomed. We've already found one site being unwelcoming. Let's not turn this one into such a place.
Are you calling me a troll?

Are you calling me a troll?
I'm saying that calling an entire group of people weak and 'snowflakes' based on their age and blaming them for something when there is no evidence for it is trollish behavior. I'm saying that it comes across that way, and that people feel attacked when you say things like that. And I am asking you to please refrain from doing it, in the interests of the group, and your own good reputation within that group.
We are friends here. We do not need to attack each other in ways like that.

I think we can all agree to differ, the discussion was about the reasons why DevArt is acting in a high-handed way, and various views have been put forward, but there's no need for quarrelling.

Then, it's done, I'm ejected from DA !
I stupidly was thinking that I was not concerned, but ....
They can post many naked women in different positions, even in pornographic'ones !
But this, NO !

Honestly I was just wondering when. It’s a shame to, it was great to see all of your art in one place. Well, in terms of galleries pixiv is still an option.

@Darkprincess69 I think your analysis misses the mark. Most of the people in my discord are millennial or Zoomers, and I have to say they mostly have same, reasonable views. There is a wide variety of political stances within my friends group, united mostly by our shared appreciation of crux-art. Hating generations divides us needlessly, and I’m not going to hold your hand here; saying things like “millennial snowflakes” Unironically means you’ve been heavily steeped in propaganda. Think about the people you know ages 26-18. It’s a huge number of people I’m sure, full of people with hopes, dreams, families. Maybe a few snowflakes, but there are absolutely middle aged snowflakes as well. If I had to define a cohort of people that large, the only word that could really suit them all would be “human”.

The issue is not with the kids, or the young adults. Your anger is being misdirected. The issue is with the large impersonal corporate systems who buy these sites from each other and sell people’s content and data to advertisers. The issue has always been them. The kids? They are your allies, they’ll be making the new sites, the better sites, the more anonymous sites. Don’t let these corporate hacks divide you from your fellow travelers with this false narrative of “millennial snowflakes banning what they don’t like”. It’s the advertising doing that!

Old tumblr, millennial ground zero, was full of bdsm porn. And then the advertisers decided it wasn’t what they wanted to be affiliated with. Remember that.

Me too, somewhere ...
It’s a shame to, it was great to see all of your art in one place.
Or not ? Here, I've my threads ( Messa deep fantasy and Anjou'calvaries, and some other ...) where my oeuvre can be posted; I'll do that in the future ...
Anyway, I dont want "me prendre la tête" with that ! ( "me prendre la tête " ... complicate things )
OK, it's a pity for DA'members who are not here : they obviously could not follow me, but I cant nothing for them !
Perhaps that , a day, they will dare to protest against the censors ... I doubt, quickly I'll be forgiven ...
Never mind, if you're one of my followers, stay mobilized, soon I've some manips to post ...

Your Messa:rolleyes:

Yeah isn't it weird that people become billionaires by monetizing content created by others for free? Recently, Australia passed a law that the social media sites have to pay news organizations for linking to their stories. That sounds good to me. After all, those news organizations do the actual hard work of investigating and reporting and are accountable if they screw up. Facebook et al. do none of that. If not for the real news folks they'd be back to filling their site with cats playing the piano, which might not be so bad. After all, shouldn't you go to the actual news site, rather than trusting someone's dentist's third cousin on FB?

As for targeted ads, IMO it's a scam perpetrated on advertisers. Did you every buy something because an ad popped up on your phone? I sure haven't. A couple of years ago, I did a search for some places in Paris for a story I was writing. For weeks afterwards I got ads for hotels in Paris. But guess what? I wasn't going to Paris. Targeted? My ass...

But that does once again raise the issue of artist's galleries (and why not for writers too?) on CF. It can't be that hard to do, can it?

It's not weird at all. The only way to become a billionaire is through the labor of others. Usually hundreds or thousands of other people. No man can do a billion dollars worth of work, but any man can take a 10% cut from a hundred thousand people.

Cruxforums has had an income stream problem. It comes with the territory of not being beholden to advertisement, outside of a few likeminded sites. The best way to keep this place free and open (like speech) is to give up on making it free (like beer). I wouldn't mind killing two birds with one stone, and giving artists galleries here that only "premium members" can see, but I doubt making galleries is feasible on the current free-to-play site.

But you missed the key point. There's a difference between making money from content where you PAY the creators vs when you don't. If DA is making money, so should the artists who create the work. Obviously CF and other free sites are a different story.

ImageMaker has always maintained that this site will remain free to the members. In the past there has been sufficient income to keep it free. However, CruxForums is becoming increasingly dependent on donations which is why poor Alice is working her socks (and everything else) off to help raise cash.
Media galleries for members do not come free. They need to be paid for and installed. At least I think that is the case, but I will check. Until the monetary situation is resolved I would put the galleries on a wish list.
It did used to be a fairly straightforward matter to convert thread contents into archive but that has changed. If members want to have stories and pics put into the archive under their name then you could package them into a pdf along with up to ten pics to advertise your pdf and PM it to me and I will put it in our archive under your name with the title e.g. "The illustrated diary of a country gentleman" Vol 1 by A.N. Other.

The way DA are going, there won't be anybody left on there and it'll turn into Tumblr :(

Well, you can sell your art on DA - or use what you post there as an ad to sell stuff you don't, or commissions. It's an exposure engine.
