What the hell, lets offend everyone!​





On a group of beautiful desert islands in the middle of nowhere, the following people were suddenly stranded by, as you might expect, a shipwreck:



2 Italian men and 1 Italian woman

2 French men and 1 French woman

2 German men and 1 German woman

2 Greek men and 1 Greek woman

2 English men and 1 English woman

2 Bulgarian men and 1 Bulgarian woman

2 Japanese men and 1 Japanese woman

2 Chinese men and 1 Chinese woman

2 American men and 1 American woman

2 Irish men and 1 Irish woman



One month later on these same absolutely stunning deserted islands in the middle of nowhere, the following things have occurred:



One Italian man has killed the other for the Italian woman.



The two French men and the French woman are living happily in a Ménage-a-trois.



The two German men have a strictly weekly schedule of alternating visits with the German woman.



The two Greek men are sleeping with each other and the Greek woman is cleaning house and cooking for them.



The two Englishmen are waiting for someone to introduce them to the Englishwoman.



The two Bulgarian men took one long look at the endless ocean, and another long look at the Bulgarian woman and started swimming.



The two Japanese men texted Tokyo and are awaiting instructions.



The two Chinese men have set up a pharmacy, a liquor store, a restaurant and a laundry, and have got the Chinese woman pregnant in order to supply employees for their stores.



The two American men are contemplating the virtues of suicide because the American woman keeps endlessly complaining about her body, the true nature of feminism, how she can do everything they can do, the necessity of fulfillment, the equal division of household chores, how sand and palm trees make her look fat, how her last boyfriend respected her opinion and treated her nicer than they do, how her relationship with her mother is improving and how at least the taxes are low and it isn’t raining.



The two Irish men have divided the island into North and south and set up a distillery. They do not remember if sex is in the picture because it gets sort of foggy after the first few litres of coconut whisky. But they’re satisfied because at least the English aren’t having any fun!

Sorry for asking so late but sometimes, I do not really understand surprising statistics like this one:

Does this really mean that every average US-citizen - no matter if baby, teenager or grown-up (?) - has 2.7 firearms at his disposal?

When I remember my birthdays when I was still a teenager, our German celebrations would have been terribly dangerous with my 5 friends and their 13.5 possible firearms instead of their 5 water pistols ...

no it is "90 guns per 100 people"
or 270 million guns for 300 million people (which would be the population of the USA in 2007 or so.)

Of course that doesn't mean that 90% of Americans own a gun ... the percentage of people who own guns is surely less, but among those who do own them, there are those who own several, or large numbers. Like a guy might own a hunting rifle, a shotgun, some handguns, and this and that.

What is actually surprising is Germany being listed with 30 guns per 100 people.

Most of this is down to West German law being changed in the 1970s, (introduction of federal regulation), before that firearms regulation was local and there were a lot of guns in circulation, and it is basically conjecture how many of them are left 50 years later. The number of registered firearms is far lower (less than 7 per 100) and all of the rest is conjecture about pre-1970s guns still existing and being operable. And of course it's the same in Germany ... a small group of people owns more than one firearm and that inflates the numbers.

Actually I mistrust statics of any kind without proper context.
