That's a Native American version of Linkie Hunting in the Northern Forest -
she's 'burnie-rinnin', running along in the stream, trying to hide her tracks and scent -
but the hunters are alert to the least sound or sign of their pretty prey!

The lost opera by Verdi - "Isabella Ovest dei Pecos." (Isabella West of the Pecos). Sadly, while the story was gripping - white settler woman captured by Apaches - it never really caught on. This is a painting of the central duet between the lead soprano (Isabella) and the star tenor (in the role of Geronimo) in which he sings how this bravery will stick it to the white man, and what he's going to stick into Isabella. Isabella sings first of her lost honour, and by the end of the piece is resigned to her fate.

I think frankly that 19th century audiences were simply too prudish and rejected it because of the required nudity, which was of course totally justified by the narrative.

Long ago I found a clip from a performance of Aida - I think it was from Hungary - in which the young priestesses did dance topless, but sadly it has gone from YouTube, likely to deprave and corrupt innocent minds

Quite so. Removing things from YouTube is certainly a sign of a corrupt and depraved mind. :D

I downloaded the video of Stravinsky's "Rite of Spring" out of fear that it would not stay online.
