Here are some vintage illustrations for the (rather obscure) Grimm's fairy tale "Mary's Child" ("Marienkind"). The story is just as absurd as most, but has at its climax the heroine just about to be burned at the stake as a child murderer when she is saved by the Virgin Mary returning the missing children.
