Jean Arthur was a major mid-century American stage and screen actor,

was famous for her "career girl with a heart of gold" roles, and was simply not the sex symbol type. But she was in her twenties during the 20’s, and so a photo I found is at least plausibly of her.

I was a bit bemused to find two Art Deco figurines that were definitely modeled on her. Why the artist chose her as the model for artistic nudes is not known, but I can’t say as I mind.
