Boris Vallejo's Slavegirls

Go to CruxDreams.com
I’m not absolutely sure who the players are, Principessa, I need help:
Is this image the Minotaur and his Mother Pasiphae or is it his aunt
Europa he’s about to devour(?)mount(?) or did she gallop away on
his dad’s back and is dad the same Cretan Bull later undone by Thesius?
(Between us, some people think the big bad bull was actually captured
by Heracles, but Theseus took the credit – what else is new?)

recently discovered papyri have revealed a fragmentary verse by Sappho
referring to one Dorothea,
a slavegirl smuggled into the labyrinth by Ariadne
with orders to exhaust the Minotaur,
so Theseus would have no problem delivering the final estoca -
naturally, male writers suppressed this version
(A Gorgon for me, a Gorgon for me, if you’re nae a Gorgon yer nae use tae me…)

aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaargh!
that deserves death
by deep-fried Mars Bar!
:D

Jim Burns's Gor work is quite stylish, though not in Boris's league -
here's his pic of some seriously unobservant Explorers of Gor -
perhaps they're going to feed the hairy monster crashing through the forest behind them?
hope so! :bdsm-wink:

(I think it's a sleen, but confess I enjoy the covers of the Gor novels more than the contents)

Jim Burns is a great artist, but more at home with spaceships and aliens.. I don’t think he really “got” the Gor books.

Meanwhile Chris Achilleos did some fine covers for the Gor books.. if anyone wants to insist they’re not a patch on Vallejo’s, that’s okay, I won’t fight you :p But I like ‘em...

(covers for: “Slavegirl..”, “Nomads..”(my favourite), “Captive..” and “Hunters..” (you have to add “..of Gor” each time of course.)

thread bump! :bump2:
