That's a mode of (horrific, but fairly quick) execution that's been part of my fantasies for a long time,
a sort of updated version Nero's human torches.
In 'The Interrogation and Punishment Centre for Girls' I mention at a few points
'the Night of Fire', part of the back-story before my narrative began,
when girls in the 'Corrective Training Unit' including my sister and I
were made to watch a dozen girl-rebels being burnt or roasted to death in increasingly horrible ways -
dousing in petrol and setting alight with a flame-gun was the kindest,
it got worse, e.g. 'Donna and Maxina who were chained to an iron drum
slowly rotating over a glowing charcoal grill
till their barbecued skin began to burst open, hissing fat accompanying their dying sobs,
and Susanna who was coated in hot liquid tar, then impaled on a stake and
set alight, to blaze howling through the murky evening air.'
