There have been some good ones lately - I don't know if #5 in the last post is disliking the reading matter or the flaming torch.

This guy (David van der Leyen) was supposed to get strangled and then burned. Apparently didn't work out as planned. Below what happened (Ouch!):
"...though they were completely burned, and the fire was as good as extinguished, David was seen to move his head, so that the people exclaimed, “He still lives.” The executioner seized the fork, and thrust it three times into his bowels, so that the blood flowed out; yet even after this he was still seen to move, hence, the executioner threw a chain around his neck, and bound him to the stake, and thus broke his neck."

Well, if their clothes survived the fire... it must have been only a symbolic burning after strangulation?

Very cheesy movie indeed -- the vidcaps make it look better than it did in the movie. I attach a video clip of the burning scene as well as another cheesy B-movie burning scene from "Don't Go In The House" (1979), which has slightly higher production values.

Here is a very much more realistic video of the aftermath of a ritual burning of a woman, from the recent French crime/horror series "Les rivières pourpres" (2019), S2E08. I haven't seen the full series, so I don't know what the plot around this is. It's pretty gruesome, though.

But a rather decent account. According to witnesses, the executioner has torn off Joan's clothes after she got tied to the stake, to show to the people she was a woman.

True -- the comic is pretty non-explicit compared to the normal level of these pulp comics. There is a bit more on show in the precending pages where Joan gets raped in jail:

And yet, a perfectly fine example of modern sexploitation cinema.

I love to fantasize I'm the actress in such scenes. I mean, I'd be a naked girl with my arms tied overhead, in front of the other actors and the camera crew. How much fun that would be!

Looking back over a few pages, these two really got my attention. I really love the way the arms have been tied, as it displays the breasts so beautifully for the onlookers.

And that's important to a woman who's about to die naked.

Cheesy? Yes.

But Jacqueline Lovell, the actress who plays the blonde less-than-stellar-actress is so good at this role that she almost makes you forget she is naked. She is sassy and snarky like Karlie Montana. She was also in a couple of Skinemax-style softcore movies where acting did not stand out. But, in Head of the Class, she is more than just a hot body in action. She is also a hot character in action, which makes her all that more appealing.
