Actually swimming with the whale sharks is a bit like being in the water with a truck.
I was hit by the rear fin once ... which hurt ... but otherwise the puppies are pretty docile, slow and calm. You get some awesome views when they are swimming towards you with their massive mouths open scooping up plankton.
They're the biggest fish in the sea. We get basking sharks around our west coast, which are nearly as big. Likewise very docile, I've stroked one, from an inflatable dinghy, but never swum with one!
