This thread reminds me of an ep of the show Rules of Engagement. Oliver Hudson's character, who was never in any danger of winning the Fields Medal or the Nobel Prize in Physics, mused to his girlfriend, played by Bianca Kajlich, "I wonder when they will invent a machine that will take your clothes off?" Bianca Kajlich's character responds. "They already invented that machine. It's called a corkscrew."
