3. Young Hormones Begin Flowing
Lyn also was torn by conflicting emotions. She respected and feared her parents' standards and had been brought up to be terrified of the consequences of loose sexual activity before marriage. But Roy was so cute and sweet, and the way he looked at her made her feel so proud and grown-up. She knew he wanted her that way. And, Lyn dared admit to herself, she had a little of the same desire for him. Every time their hands touched on a walk, she felt sparks of pleasure flow over her skin. And these would then concentrate and settle between her legs. She began to wear what she thought was very revealing and daring outfits when they went out. She wanted him to want her. But she feared letting him too close.

but why not?
Barb has total contempt for tattoos and body piercings. I am not far from that. One or two tiny tattoos don't bother me, but big, back fillers are disgusting. As far as piercing, ears - one each and navels, one, are nice. More gets rapidly offensive. and a turn off

4. Roy Faces a Dilemma Tuesday, 3:45 PM

Walking across campus in the late afternoon, Roy was feverishly thinking about how to address his problem. He had just been told to see college security about a minor altercation he'd had with another student. It was nothing, and the two had shaken hands and made up. But VJC was fanatical about campus safety and decorum, and the security officers, though usually older men hired as night watchman, did have the authority to report wrongdoers to the Head of Student Development, who had unlimited authority to expel a troublemaker. Therefore Roy wanted to be on his best behavior. He had no previous infractions, and he knew they wouldn't do more than try to scare him. But he didn't want to take his knapsack along, and he had nowhere safe to hide it. If he had known earlier, he would have left it at home. Now he was stuck.

As he entered the main walkway and turned toward the Administrative building with Security at the far end, he spied Lyn entering the Library. Yes! he thought and hurried in that direction. Roy caught up with Lyn just as she settled in one of the South Wing carrels to study her economics text. When she saw Roy approaching, she gave him such a charming smile that his knees almost went weak. For just an instant, he hesitated in what he was planning. Shit, it's OK, he told himself—besides, it serves her right for teasing me so much with her sexy body.

After they greeted each other in undertones, Roy explained his need to go to Security. Lyn immediately became very concerned and worried for him. Roy reassured her that it all would be fine. However, he didn't want to take his small blue knapsack along to complicate things. Would she watch it for him until he came back? Lynette, of course, agreed. As he got up to leave, she did what she hadn't done before, give him a mouth kiss in public, and whispered the words, "Take care. I love you."

Roy smiled and again reassured her before walking out of the Library.

Did she not think to ask 'why would this complicate things'? Maybe she should have asked him to empty it out first!
whispered the words, "Take care. I love you."
Uh-oh, now we know why she accepted his little sack ... love is sooooo blind!

Excellent premise for a blossoming relationship

5. An Unfortunate Choice of Transportation

Roy looked at his watch again. It was 5:15 PM. He had been waiting for almost ninety minutes for his 'interview' with Security. He now was worried about Lyn. The Library closed on Mondays at 6 PM. She would be worried about him and also not know how to return his knapsack. He looked again across the waiting room a the large sign in bold letters: “Turn off all Mobile Phones – NO exceptions” He couldn’t call her to explain!

Lynette left the Library just before six. She was now apprehensive about Roy. However, she knew better than to visit Security. She might make things worse for him. She would just have to go home and return his pack tomorrow.

With dusk coming on and two packs to carry, Lyn decided to take the bus home rather than walk. Arriving at the bus stop, she saw a short queue of people waiting as plainclothes officers stopped and examined each person before they boarded the bus. Lyn was a patient person and thought nothing of the slight additional delay.

Uh~oh. Seems like she was in the wrong place, and at the wrong time.

Couldn't he have sent a quick text before switching off? Methinks he wants Lyn to get into some sort of trouble ... then again, don't we all!
Nah, he’d risk creating evidence against himself… if he said, leave my bag in the locker area, security would investigate after a quick look at his mobile, which is completely normal in the concentration camp Singaporean High School
