Goodbye

Go to CruxDreams.com
This exchange with Darkprincess69 and all the follow-up responses prompted me to leave:

Since I posted my Goodbye message, I have had a chance to think about it, and now I'm not sure. I might be cutting off my nose to spite my face (wouldn't be the first time). I would like to see what you think.

I have been working on the saga I mentioned since the late 80s, and it stung a lot to see it called "propaganda."

Got a link to your saga? My attention has been elsewhere.

If I may, I think you're over-reacting. Dark Princess' diatribe had little or nothing to do with you. FWIW, the problem with movies today has zero to do with politics in my view, but is that their mindset is guided by comic books. Where is the witty dialog and interesting characters you found in the classic Hollywood movies (our Stan and Barb stories on this site have far better dialog than the average movie today)?

But I do have to tell you that the first post of yours that I saw was some general tips for writers grabbed from some web site (which were rather worthless as most such are IMO as a writer). Yet, I haven't seen you on any of the story threads here, which strikes me as a bit odd...

I think if you did that on any site, some people might take it the wrong way. Just my opinion...

OK, thanks for being honest. And I have a saga I've been working on since the mid to late 80s. Stories from it have been published in commercial markets (nobody's ever heard of them, granted), and I'm still looking to go that route. At present, only 4 of my stories are up on line; the rest were published in mags that are now defunct. I'm not sure anybody here would be interested in them, as they aren't about BDSM; at least, not directly. My theme is sort of "Conan the Barbarian meets The Handmaid's Tale."

FWIW, I've posted on commercial sites as well. But why do you need a preamble and permission? Post one of your stories and see what happens. I'll take a look. And do check out some of the stories here by other writers.

Sounds promising. I shall have a look (when it isn't Christmas Day). In the meantime, you decide whether you "belong" here. Other people don't decide that for you (unless you do something egregiously offensive or illegal). Hang around and you might just find your niche. :)

I like the sound of that - and I think it's likely to have plenty of followers here,
while a lot of the stories are around crux, like it says on our tin, and a good many more involve
various sorts of bondage, torture etc., there have been several excellent novels in which such themes,
if they occur at all, are only a fairly small part. It sounds to me like your story has elements of
male Dom and female sub, and the (often complex) relationship between them,
and that's a theme which interests a lot of us.

As for belonging here, of course you do - I know already you've got the mixture of kinky tastes
and wacky character that's very much at home in our crazy crowd of cruxers! :jump:

Thanks for the kind words, Eulalia! My hesitation about posting my stories here has to do with dread of rejection. I am writing about abuse that is perpetrated on completely UNWILLING people. I've already seen posts calling certain actresses "feminazis" for demanding respectful treatment, and I find myself unwilling to criticize the actresses for that. I'm not sitting in judgment of others on this board; it's just that I don't share their sensibilities. I think that more people here would dislike my stuff than would like it. An editor I've worked with (female) said my novel made her think of the Gor books by John Norman. (Google him if you're not familiar with him.) I'm not trying to write porn, I'm trying to make a statement about a significant social problem. But I've gone on too long here. I would enjoy your thoughts, however; I consider you a genuinely wise and same person.

That would describe a good 90% of the stories here. Certainly just about all of mine.

I have to ask in all seriousness have you READ any of the stories here? I fear you are judging the audience without having done so. And you are asking us to commit to liking your stories without having read them. I don't see how that's possible.

Let me quote from one of the masterworks of 20th century literature:

"You do not like them. So you say.
Try them! Try them! And you may.
Try them and you may, I say."

Yeah I've written a fair few stories,on here mostly surrounding slavery,& (or) crucifixion,of both sexes, either in verse or prose, with varying degrees of success.....
Admittedly I've hit a glass wall,writer's block lately,but i will return.....

My experience in 17 months posting here is that most stories here have unwilling victims. And most are well received (even when not deserving it - thinking of some of mine). However, there is always someone here ready to object to something. I fully understand fear of rejection. I am terrified when I start posting a new story and I'm a slut for praise. I don't like the concept of someone being hounded out for a story others don't like, but it is impossible to promise to support a work before it is seen.

But, you must make your own choice. Take a chance and post or don't. I can't help you make that decision. This is just a forum of anonymous people who share a liking for some of what is posted here and enjoy discussing it. You decide whether to jump in the pond or go home.

@Praefectus Praetorio ...I'm with you on that..... :)

I share Windar's bemusement over your concerns about turning people off with these themes, whipmaster. He urges you read the stories. I urge you to look at the artwork.

Below are fixes the crux addicts come for. This one does, anyway. :babeando::very_hot:;)
