The “public thread” language of CruxForums is English, but we very much welcome members from all over the world, and are more than happy to accept the use of an online translator for those who may feel the need. Staff are also happy to open private messaging (PM) threads for non-English discussions wherever there are sufficient numbers of speakers to warrant doing so. We strive to include everyone. All are welcome here!

Well, if the very existence of the Russian-language section causes you such concern, then these questions should be for you, and not for me. I didn't go into the details, but as far as I know, this site has similar sections for French and German speakers. And the Russian-language section is worse?
Regarding the German speakers it is obvious.
But the point about the French speaking people is quite lost on me. Belgian Congo perhaps?

And just to clarify: I speak russian language, I do. But I am neither russian nor Ukrainian.
And not of Baltic countries, to that matter.

Edit #2: not of Finland, not of Poland, not of Czechia, not of Hungary. Who have I forgot?
Everyone should have the right to have their own native speaking chat room on this forum if there are any interested people. Nobody here should be judged because of their language. That's why I've always found it good that the main report is in English since I've been a member here. And all of us should try to keep political discussions out of here.

I see! You are from China!

I will point out that the owner of this site is based in Russia. In graduate school, I worked hard to learn Russian (and French) but I haven't practiced. Russian is an important scientific language. For one, the late Lev Landau (Landau and Lifschitz is a multi-volume work on all aspects of physics, although somewhat dated now) was a top physicist. I can still read some of the recent messages in Russian (not as well as French, which is easier for people who speak other Romance languages but which I also haven't practiced). There are plenty of people in the United States and the United Kingdom who are virulently racist and anti-Jewish, but that shouldn't condemn the entire population. Xyulo - wanted by criminal international court in The Hague is NOT a freely elected leader, and if he were he would not be an overwhelmingly elected one.
I signed up for the French section for the stories (you can get New York Times stories in Spanish, and I buy at enormous expense Der Spiegel in German) and I thought about joining the Russian group but I wouldn't be fluent enough to just "chat".
One of the interesting things about this site is that there a people from all over the world, and it is important to remember that governments are not people, and most people are not defined by their political opinions.

If you speak Russian language, but you don't like to do it, so what are you doing here?
This thread is about searching the people, who would like to use their mother language to communicate with each other! If you not satisfied with this- that is your own problem! You are free to chat wherever and with anybody, using any language.
As far i know there is no politics on this chat according the rules of Forum. So please put your mouth in some other place.

Oh, here we go again, the classic one: "if you speak russian language, why you are here?"

Because you are "good" russian, right? But you only happen to hate those "Hohli"/"Labusi"/"Churki"/"Jidi"? You only happen to donate your rubles to buy equipment to your soldiers, right?

Landau was Jewish, but definitely Russian. You can Google Lev Landau and see what he did (and the trouble he had with Stalin). Try Googling Kapitza also, for example.
I definitely back Ukraine, and despise Xyulo - wanted by criminal international court in The Hague.
All I am saying is that Xyulo - wanted by criminal international court in The Hague is not Russia, and that Russians should be given the benefit of the doubt and not automatically condemned based on what their leaders do.
People on the forum keeping their political opinions private should be accepted.
Russia has had a hard history (as has Germany)--I have a book called "The Soviet Tragedy". That is something today's Russians or Germans are not responsible for and cannot do much about. Every country (even Sweden) had things in its history that are less than ideal.

I don't need to Google Lev Landau, I am quite familiar with the man, having studied physics from their book. I also know who was Kapitza.

Please don't tie the USSR, which was apparently-dead from 1991, to the situation now. Xyulo - wanted by criminal international court in The Hague is Russia and Russia is Xyulo - wanted by criminal international court in The Hague. I have connections with people there and I know what's going on. They all went crazy, they all are ready to fight against the whole world. The USSR's socialism has rose from its grave, but as something more close to nazional-socialism. They seek to conquer and assimilate the Ukrainians (and who won't be assimilated will be destroyed physically), then they don't hide it that the Baltic states would be next, and then Poland.

Imagine the situation when for example in 1943 someone in USA tries to organize a club of German-speaking people, and takes offence when someone looks upon them suspiciosly.

Yes, the Russian conversation group has a good number of members now, with cheerful, friendly chat going on. There's nothing sinister about it, nothing political - 3 staff, including our site owner ImageMaker, are members, and anyone else who'd like to join, please send a PM to Madiosi and/ or me (just click our avatars and select 'start conversation').

So the request that Vika made at the start of the thread has been answered, I think we can close it now.
