I remember listening on the radio. All the people in the know knew Liston would handle Cassius Clay (as he was then known) easily. Show what they know.1964, On this day Muhammad Ali defeats Sonny Liston for the heavyweight boxing championship of the world.
This is the 117th anniversary of the birth of Theodor Seuss Geisel (Dr. Seuss) whose work was an endless source of Joy in my childhood (I still love to eat green eggs and ham!).

Reminding me that today fifty years ago, on March 8th 1971, the 'Fight of the Century' took place in Madison Square Garden, New York, between Ali and Joe Frazier. After the full fifteen rounds, Frazier was declared winner (having almost grounded Ali with the 'Knock of the Century' in round 15).1964, On this day Muhammad Ali defeats Sonny Liston for the heavyweight boxing championship of the world.
