There is a scene like that in Amy Hesketh's film Maleficarum http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLBF41BC3F24A81224 . Amy not only produced this movie, but she also co-starred in it. She talks in the YouTube videos of the irony of her, being handy with tools, constructing the very devices on which she would be tortured in the film.

While she found a way to make the Wooden Pony and rack scenes bearable, she said she was terrified during the scene where she was tied and rotated above a fire.

In the first place, Amy's such a wonderful, open, lively person,
I'd love to meet her and just listen to her for hours!
And what she says about the experience of being tortured -
yes, acting of course, but experiencing it for real, no faking -
resonates so well with my experience of 'dungeon play',
not elaborate BDSM, just straightforward stuff
like how you try to prepare yourself, physically and mentally,
how you can move about when you're suspended by your wrists and whipped,
how it feels to actually sit on the Spanish Horse,
how difficult it is to breath when your being stretched on the Rack,
the difference between acting scared and actually being seriously frightened,
how you feel at the end of the day...
I always like to learn about making the kinds of images and videos we see on CF,
especially the experience of the women who are the 'victims',
and Amy's account is just so real!​

thanks for the link - the film project is very interesting and exciting,
I was only vaguely aware that R L Stevenson had written a short Gothic vampire story
called Olalla (pronounced more or less the same as Eulalia )
Certainly Amy will be wonderful playing both the Peninsular War era Olalla
and her 21st century descendant, both of them receiving severe treatment,
the first ending up (I gather) being burnt alive on a cross,
great stuff! ​
