what a difference a simple pair of handcuffs make!
They don't hang about - while I'm still in shock at what's so suddenly happened,

Oh, "softening up" is standard practice - as soon as I'm caught,
still confused and in shock, they set about knocking the shit out of me,
they make sure any brave notions I've got of putting up any resistance
are quickly beaten out of me. Then the "scientific" stuff can start...
