One of my ancestors: “Calamity Barb” … photo taken after a third glass of wine and just before she totaled @thehangingtree ‘s great grandpappy’s new bicycle. It’s said, he had her crucified for three days on a hill outside the Treehouse before he was willing to forgive her.

I didn't realize he was so merciful and forgiving.

From the colour of the wine in the glass, she was more into Cabernet rather than Riesling, it seems. I love history.

What is it ?

I remember metal flashlights that use D sized batteries.
You could beat someone with them and they would still work.
They tended to make batteries corrode rather quickly though.

The fast corroding was an issue of the used zinc-carbon batteries. A pot from zinc with inside sawdust, acid and carbonstab, only sealed with wax.

Regarding #5, you are right, the R105 was a Russian two-way radio, which I also had to use, by the way. We also had them on the directional radio station that I drove.
