well yes I'm aware we're in a place where slaves often face the kind of consequences that severely shorten the ime frame of 'living with', and dash all hopes ... but what else have they got?
well that was not a terribly serious comment, more a way of saying "yeah it's cruxforums ... so the cross is where a slave's hopes go to die (along with the slaves themselves)"A society can only have slavery when the slaves are held in fear but not in imminent danger as a group. If you give slaves hope, or threaten them, enmass it will destroy the institution.
1) Think of group of slaves a school of fish surrounded by predators. The predators will get single fish for dinner but there is not enough negative impact to change the behavior of the school. In the case of slaves their behavior is submissive obedience even if on occasion single slaves meet a horrible fate because the risk to the group is not significant enough to engender behavior change (ie: rebellion).
2) Is the opposite effect, once a society arms its slaves for warfare (ex: The North during the American Civil War and Brazil during the Paraguayan War) the institution could not survive.
In both cases the difference is that the slaves are either unaware or aware of their collective power. Keeping them downtrodden, afraid and unaware is a slave master's only hope of staying Master.
Kam used my original photo of the beautiful Lily on the last two, with my permission of course. We were both on DA at the time. He is a Master of Manipulation, and here now also.
ooh, some of these might make a nice photo reference to work. I'll need to consider these.
Hi. No, it isn't one of ours.
Is this a "Julie and @melissa" manip. It has that style, but I don't see the signature.
Very nice composition using some of our better "stock" images. Love the street scene, although why the guy strolling along there has that confused look is unclear. Perhaps it's like going into a shop where you see so many things you like that you can't decide what to buy in the end.
