As traditional the runaway back is whipped before crucifixion.

The Assassin who killed a visiting foreign dignitary in a brothel,
had her face beaten during capture, whipped front and back before execution.

The promise of better reincarnating made her volunteer.
She has the temptation of requesting and getting a quick death, at any time.
However the gods may not grant her full wish if she doesn't hold out till the end.
As sacrifice to the gods she keeps her ceremonial clothes and is treated,
unlike the two others with respect, by both guards and public.

If I would be one of these gods, I would frown upon that practice!

If these mortals are willing to volunteer for sacrifice, that's their problem, but not with the purpose of boasting their own ego! Whipped, naked and humiliated! That's the way we, gods, like it!

But she should not worry! She does not know, that her two companions are reincarnations of volunteers like her! She will get her reincarnation either, but not the better life she hopes for! During her next life, she will commit a crime and she will end crucified like her companions! Afterwards only, we can talk about reincarnation with a better life!

I really like these 'sequence series' of yours, Crumera. They are a signature technique of yours, and I for one think they show imagination and artistic flair!

In this field, the crosses grow happily and the flowers are magnificent! These quadruplets are splendid.

The longer the meat suffered, the better the flavour.

It is adviced to let them hang three days after death and with the intestins removed. An early process of rot makes the meat delicious. Only be careful, since it could ruin the meat when the weather is too muggy!
