A message from the Staff (Administrators and Moderators) of CruxForums:

We do our jobs here entirely voluntarily because we love the Forums,
we think it's a great site and we do our best to keep it that way.
But we are only human, we have Real Life to deal with -
busy with jobs, family life, sometimes unwell, all the ups and downs.
We try to keep up with all that's going on (even in a ‘quiet’ 24 hours,
that means scores of active threads, posts well into three figures).

Where there are issues, we don't just lay down the law,
deleting posts, issuing warnings, banning members,
we try to deal with problems constructively and helpfully,
and only resort to sanctions when a more friendly approach fails.
But if members want CF to go on being a friendly, lively and popular site,
we need your support and co-operation.

We welcome constructive criticism and helpful advice,
we pay attention to it and try to act on it as best we can.
Members are always welcome to communicate with any or all of us.
If you see something you don’t like, just click ‘Report’ and tell us why,
and if there’s some more general concern you want to raise,
do send a Private Message (in Conversations) to any one or more of us.

But posting public 'manifestos' or ‘tirades’ - even politely worded ones,
never mind abusive or sarcastic attacks - is not the way to voice your concerns.
That is simply stirring up trouble, it will certainly not bring any improvements.
Verbal attacks on Forum Staff, individually or collectively, on public threads
are a serious breach of our Rules, and will not be tolerated.

I just want to put on record my 100% backing for Eulalia. I would bet that the majority of members have absolutely no idea of the number of hours of work she puts in in helping keep this site ship shape or the distress caused by barbed comments and innuendos. It is a form of bullying which is nasty and insidious as the bully often hides behind the "flag" of representing the members against the corrupt management. Remaining silent when bullying occurs does not help.

Thanks - seriously, I'm crying - it's good to be working with a great team,
a lot goes on behind the scenes that members aren't aware of,
and our new moderators are learning just what it takes to keep our site safe and secure.
We owe a lot especially to our site owner, ImageMaker, without him there'd simply be no CF.
And thanks too to lots of members who aren't on the Staff
but help in many ways, e.g. alerting us to problems, helping newbies,
greeting birthdays, keeping us on our toes! Heartfelt thanks to you all!

Oh, boy, ain't that the truth!

If we'd known what was coming up.... well, we'd still have joined, because it's when things are difficult that we really see the qualities in others. I am proud to work alongside such people.
