Illustrations from a 1930s French book "La Fille Perdue". Is this a translation of "The Lost Girl" by D. H. Lawrence, I'm not sure because I haven't read this novel. Are there any similar scenes?

As for #2 - something about vintage motors, you could not do that on a modern car.
I am sure #7 must contravene all kinds of railway company regulations. Still interesting when the court case came up.
