It's his under-age subjects that arguably break our rules.
Otherwise, I agree, there is nothing overtly 'perverted' or pornographic in his work,
he was a very fine painter, and his pictures are - to me - fascinatingly mysterious.
He remains controversial, art critics, especially feminist ones, are deeply divided about him.

I think the cat might have been suggested by the paintings of Balthus, where cats seem to be channeling his own lustful thoughts (if you don't know of Balthus, check him out on the internet, there are good reasons why we can't show his pictures here)

Balthus claimed he was a modern-day Piero della Francesca trying to portray the transition from innocence to knowledge and the cats were just witnesses to the transition.
