I think ravens would be much worse than vultures, They would last hours,....... perhaps days eating a crucified or broken woman on the wheel. It would be similar to Lin Chi.

Yes, I think with the ravens it would take longer and be more agonizing. (I should know, look at my avatar)

Not sure how I missed this thread earlier. This image is splendid - a really nice treatment of an early photograph. It could be a movie still from the 1920s. Lots of background and emotion in this. Beautiful work.

It also looks like it would be of some interest to @Apostate .

Indeed, this is a still frame from the controversial crux scene in the 1919 silent movie, 'Ravished Armenia' (also titled 'Auction of Souls').
The film documents the Armenian Genocide by the Turks during WW1 and stars Aurora Mardiganian, who was a survivor of the events depicted.

The innocent girl has suffered a frightful torture when the executioner has broken the bones of her arms and legs, then he has tightened her flesh with red-hot tongs and finally he has twisted her arms and legs between the spokes of the wheel. The executioner is so skilled that he has not damaged any vital organs, so the girl can remain alive in agony for hours and even days. However, the worst of her torment has only just begun as the ravens are going to tear her eyes out of their sockets, then they are going to skin her and tear shreds of her flesh, devouring her little by little while she remains alive in horrible pain.
