The gist of what you're saying doesn't actually contradict what I said. You could easily speak the lines from my post and then do much the same scene you described.
I'm genuinely all in favour of constructive criticism but you speak as though your view is objectively the best way to do the scene (and the best way to be a sadist!), when we are speaking about something that is, by definition, subjective.
I'm curious what your definition of a "true sadist" is. I also wonder whether you are speaking from a sadist point of view or a masochist one.
