Investigations in to the Moore family tree have led to so many discoveries. Intriguing tales of it’s almost unbelievable relation to important history and events. One such tale was recently discovered when searching through the logs of Dutch traders to Japan in the mid-1700s.

A certain Captain Jasper DeSade tells of finding an English vessel floundering in the northwest Pacific Ocean. He had ordered his men to search the vessels for survivors. Unfortunately, he notes, all hands were lost or had abandoned ship. As was most of the cargo it was carrying. Only one person was left, a young woman. She was drowsy and dehydrated, clearly having spent a day or two locked in her cabin. She was taken aboard the ship (De Zeenimf) along with her belongings and quickly nursed back to health. Captain DeSade admired his catch, paying special attention to a rather fabulous tight little that she possessed.

After a few days of sailing, she seemed back to normal. She introduced herself as Báirbre Moore, an Irish girl married to an English soldier, and they had been on their way to Cathay when their ship had been besieged by a storm. The sailors had locked her in her room “for her protection”, and that was the last she had seen of them.

At first, the Captain was disgusted with such ungentlemanly conduct, but it soon became apparent that “normal” for Miss Báirbre meant a lot of complaining. She complained about her quarters, she complained about the food, she complained that they were continuing our voyage to Japan rather than escorting her to Cathay. She complained a great deal about the way the good sailors ogled her as she walked around deck, swaying her hips and quite clearly flaunting her tight little. She spent long hours in the Captain’s quarters with the door locked, never letting him inside. She seemed to be pouring over small paintings that she had in a leather bag, but he never saw them.

It wasn’t long before there was some grumbling among the sailors, with pointed suggestions that she be either stripped and bound to a canon, and have her tight light feel the sting of the whip, or be sent to walk the plank! The Captain greatly approved of the former idea, but decided against any measures that would put his crew at odds with the British Government.

They made good speed and it was not long before the coast of Japan was in sight. Báirbre was given strict instructions to stay aboard the ship, in the Captain’s cabin, as the Japanese were not friendly to foreigners. Only the Dutch were allowed to trade with them. She vocalized consent (after a tirade of complaining), and soon the ship was docked.

The Captain and most of the crew disembarked, unloading European goods for trade followed by loading Japanese cargo. They all had to be searched and go through the ceremony of breaking the cross, as was the law in these times. Báirbre was restless, unbeknownst to the crew, she was hatching a plan to see this exotic new land. Under the cover of night, she sneaked off the ship and went exploring.

From all accounts, this Moore did not possess the intelligence and cunning of some of her other relatives. She did not seem to understand that being a white woman roaming the streets a Japanese city, she stuck out like a sore thumb. Not 30 mins after she set foot ashore, she was caught.

Captain DeSade was summoned by the authorities to explain her presence. He was furious! He could lose the privilege, granted only to a few, to set foot on this Island. He explained to them that she had been picked up off of a derelict ship, and she was never meant to set foot on the island. The officer in charge was unconvinced, and ordered her searched. Soldiers stripped Báirbre of every single piece of her garments, but they found no incriminating evidence. She indeed seem to be just a dumb girl. Unfortunately, they followed this up by searching the leather bag she carried with her. Out came the parchments that the Captain had noticed, and on it was paintings of….

“CHRISTIAN!” yelled the officer “YOU HAVE BROUGHT US A CHRISTIAN!!!” On every single parchment was a painting of a crucified person!

“N…No, I’m not! I mean, I am, as all good Irish are, but I’m not a missionary or anything! I’m just a soldier’s wife! Those pictures aren’t religious! They are for…..” She trailed off and her face turned as pink as a cherry blossom! The Japanese officer didn’t seem to notice that the people illustrated here were all women, he simply knew what the symbol of the cross meant. There was no hope for Báirbre after that.

The Captain had to pay generously just to even be allowed to leave with his and his crew’s life, while Báirbre was dragged through the streets to prison. They had not bothered returning her clothes.

That was certainly a show for the townsfolk, as not one of them had ever seen a white woman before, much less a naked white woman, with a tight little. It wasn’t just the townsfolk who were beside themselves with interest. The officer and his men were not about to let this pretty thing go to waste. All through the night they satisfied themselves in her holes. Man after man came and took her dignity from her. One was different, being much taller, and with his face hidden behind wrapped around cloth. Báirbre didn’t know it, but he spoke Japanese with a Dutch accent, speaking at length with the Officer in charge, who complained that this one simply wouldn’t swallow! And so that one had assaulted her rosebud.

The next day, the ship pulled up anchor and sailed away. The Captain didn’t set off to the open sea at once, instead he hugged the shoreline until he reached area where the tide was almost unnaturally far out. He pulled out his best telescope and gazed at the rocky shore.
Madiosi-2020-107-Japan.jpg
There, among at least 12 naked Japanese men and women, was one pretty white girl, shining like a star in the early morning light. All of them nailed to crosses on full display to the sea.

Báirbre struggled against the horrid pain of the nails in her wrists and feet, she was cold and the sea spray made her shiver. She was often distracted though, as next to her was a gorgeous young Japanese girl. They both gazed at each other, seeing a stunning sight neither had ever seen before. It gave them strength, but it also frustrated them as there was nothing to be done except to writhe and suffer.

The ship stayed where it was, and all the sailors took turns using the telescope (not the Captain’s of course). The boatswain complained that that side of the ship would have to be cleaned diligently again, as it was soon splashed with the seed of innumerable sailors, who felt the need to relieve their arousal while watching the cruel display.

They day dragged on, but Báirbre wouldn’t last to the next one. The tide came in, rising higher and higher up the crucified company’s bodies.
Madiosi-2020-109-Japan.jpg
Finally, as dusk settled, the waves were over their heads. She lasted the longest, being the tallest, but eventually the only people who would see her tight little ever again were the mermaids.

The ship took off to sea, and Captain DeSade recorded the story in his log. He added an addendum, suggesting that the young Báirbre Moore probably died exactly the way she had always dreamed of.

I hope you will approve the illustration?

An excellent addition to our vignette collection, Baron von Sade! And thanks to Madiosi too, for such evocative illustrations.

And I love that epitaph: “the young Báirbre Moore probably died exactly the way she had always dreamed of.”

Do mermaids have tight littles? Never thought about that.
