For The Pleasure Of Prince Uday

Go to CruxDreams.com
Well, someone is doing it their way.
A man’s voice, a voice of command, one she knows well.
There are not many of those.

Uday, seems unlikely;
Qusay, who is not dead;
Masrur, who faked illness;
the Begum, who is a ventriloquist;
Aziz, still likely;
the grey haired man, still a mystery;
the doctor, who has a hidden agenda;
the judge, nobody is suspecting him.

Am I forgetting someone?

I'm almost feeling embarrassed at missing so many possibilities for making it even more tangled -
but there are a few more twists in the tale yet, I hope you won't be disappointed,
I don't think you will be... ;)

When I wake up, in sporadic fits and starts, I become aware I’m in a proper bed, a hospital bed, lots of tubes and cables attached to me. Still quite a lot of pain, but it’s dulled, I must be heavily medicated. There’s light in the room, I can see another bed, someone in it – yes, it’s Yasmin! She’s lying dead still, but she’s connected up to lots of equipment too, she must be alive – Allah be praised!

After a while, a cheerful black nurse comes in, greets me with a grin.

‘Where am I?’ I ask,

‘You’re in the Royal Masrur Hospital, love, part of the al Dakhm Palace. And you’re safe, and you’re already getting well, nobody’s going to hurt you any more!’

I smile, gratefully – ‘And Yasmin?’

‘Yes, she’s okay too, she’s needing rest, both of you do, but the Doctor’s very pleased, you’re a healthy couple of lassies, your bodies are working in overdrive healing all those beasts did to you.’

The mention of ‘the Doctor’ gives me a nasty start – ‘Dr. Ajap?’

‘Oh by the Prophet no! That man’s in prison, he’s going to be tried.’

‘For using me to kill Prince Qusay?’

She nods, tells me to rest, she’ll bring some food.

After a bit, Yasmin wakes, I call he name, she gives me one of her lovely smiles, though her face is as white as her teeth. A lady doctor comes and examines us both, she’s gentle and encouraging, like the nurse said, she’s pleased we’re recovering well. Soon we’re both sitting up, enjoying a light but very tasty salad and fruit. Then we hear footsteps, girls’ bright voices, in come Sima and Turi, they hug us both.

‘Praised be Allah, we’re all safe then!’ I cry, almost in tears of relief,

‘Yes –‘

‘And all the dancing troupe?’

‘Yes,’ grins Sima, ‘and we’ve got an even better surprise for you...’

She turns and beckons, on a self-propelled wheelchair comes in a young woman, I can hardly believe my eyes – ‘Lau!’

My sister wheels herself round to the side of my bed, we just gaze at each other for moments, hardly daring to believe.

‘Lau,’ I say at last, ‘I honestly thought you were dead, after... after what I heard...’

‘I thought I was too, Eul – and I was, damned nearly, but – well, as you see...’

I take her hand. ‘Do you want to tell me about it, Lau? You don’t have to, if it’s still too painful...’

I doubt that...

‘Lau,’ I say at last, ‘I honestly thought you were dead, after... after what I heard...’

I take her hand. ‘Do you want to tell me about it, Lau? You don’t have to, if it’s still too painful...’
And at least the old loathometer can cool off a bit! :)

A VERY EMOTIONAL CHAPTER, I SUSPECT. SOME MORTALS MIGHT HAVE THE ODD HINT OF A TEAR IN THEIR EYE, PERHAPS. OF COURSE, I'M FORTUNATE I THAT THIS SORT OF SENTIMENTALITY IS NOT POSSIBLE FOR ME. RIGHT. :rolleyes::doh: THIS HANKIE IS JUST A STYLE ACCESSORY.:oops:
ANYONE HAVE ANYTHING TO SAY ABOUT THAT? :mad:
I THOUGHT NOT.:cool:

The scene and the mood have completely changed.
Now suddenly everything is going so well.
I fear it's going too well.
Can this happiness be durable or is it only a nice intermezzo?
Eul tells us we can expect a few more twists.
I do believe her.

‘You’re in the Royal Masrur Hospital, love, part of the al Dakhm Palace.

Interesting, so has Sheik Masrur taken them in to his personal hospital? Why would he do that? Or has the whole Masrur family been defeated and ousted from the palace?

As messaline and Repertor say, it's too happy at the moment; we must not forget Eul101 and Lau are both General Aziz's slaves, and Eul especially could still be a very effective assassin.

Dr Ajap's knowledge will be too useful for whoever is now in charge (shades of Wernher von Braun ) and Eul is known to be a good host to his virus.

I predict a very bright future for her. Travel to exotic places, meet important people, have good sex, watch them die...............

Lau sighs. ‘It was bad, sis. Not just the pain – that was terrible – but not knowing why, just screaming, why? Why are you doing this to me?’

I nod, I know...

‘I was called out of the classroom, “Report to the Mistress’s Office immediately!” When I got there, there were two men... yes, those two men... and The Mistress. They made me stand on the table, hands on my head, they pretended they were searching me... of course they weren’t I only had my bra and briefs and top on, they were just having a good grope...’

She pauses a few moments, sobbing. I’m thinking, those two men, Ishaaq and Yunnus, the torturers, I bet...

‘Then they handcuffed me, took me out and threw me in the back of a van, sped me to that place...’

Again, she’s sobbing, shaking, glancing around as if she’s still terrified they’ll come back for her. I try to calm her with a gentle hug.

‘The questions, questions – all about General Aziz – what the hell could I tell them? And about mum... and about you Eul...’

‘I know.’

‘And then... then, the torture... that cellar... The Chair...’

I nod, I know all about The Chair,

‘electric shocks, beating... the thing they called The Pony... hanging up by my wrists... whipping, more shocks... that bed thing, they called it The See-Saw...’

‘God, Lau, how long were you in there? How many times?’

‘I... I can’t remember, Eul... maybe four, five...’

Again she’s shaking uncontrollably.

‘I must have lost it in the end, just passed out, nearly died... I’m sure, I knew I was dying....’

‘But you didn’t, love.’

‘No... I woke up... in this place, this Palace Hospital.’

‘But you don’t remember how you got here?’

‘No... nurse said it was The Begum’s orders.’

‘Ah. She stopped them torturing me too – much quicker than they did you... she needed me for... well, something else. Anyway, how are you now?’

She flicks her hair back, that's a familiar Lau gesture, turns and smiles at me,

‘I’m glad I told you all that, Eul – it was hard, but... yes, I’m alive, I’m getting better, much better. There’s still something wrong with my legs, the nerves don’t work properly, but I’m beginning to walk, the doctor thinks I’ll get better. Then there are things inside me... they might not ever work properly again...’

Her eyes are full of tears, mine too, both for Lau and for myself, remembering what the evil Dr. Ajap has done inside me. But we hug one another, yes, we’re both alive!

Poor Lau. She has endured even more than Eulalia.

'Round up the usual suspects!!!'
They are rounded up but they are not the usual ones.
All our hard thinking hasn't brought us any further, even though the fact that the girls are in the Royal Masrur Hospital, part of the al Dakhm Palace, strenghtens my suspicion that Sheikh Masrur is behind this.
Let's take a different road and see if we can get better results with the elimination method. The first we can eliminate is Dr. Ajap. He is in prison, which can only mean that someone has not appreciated his efforts.

Interesting. So what's the Begum's game, and where is prince Uday, or Sheikh Masrur? Who is doing what here?:confused::confused::confused: I can't fault him or her for preferring lovely live girls over lovely dead ones, of course. :cool::devil:
