Messa is always dreaming! And what lovely dark and passionate dreams the are too!View attachment 543210 ... and what about this French Anjou'girl called Marie (but in reality named Messaline or Paskell) ?
The redactors of this story didn't tell the truth about her ! In reality, the flask wasn't full of poison but only a sedative and she was playing a role to make Lady Barb guilty and condemned to death !
Later, she was bought by a named Theseus, a well known slaves'merchant, and driven to Zanzibar where she was becoming the private slave of a black princess; they were living a real "fairy'tale" , having only sex'relations together, and , in fact, they were the first lesbians of the muslim'world !
Mmmmmm ! What a lucky fate ........ we can dream, sometimes ...
An excellent story with an interesting historical background.
I have learned a lot about the Barbary Pirates, Barbary States and Barbary War.
I fear I cannot reply until I have recovered my composure!
Great epilogue Barb!
Thank you Barb, and Windar for this great story.
Thank you Madiosi for the excellent artwork.
And thanks go out to all the members who added to the story with great comments.
That's the most deserved Oscar in yearswait, what about my Oscar? ... huh? .... it was given to Goldman?
The one without whom you'd be dead in that warehouse in the Bronx. That one. I don't get no respect...Goldman who?
Was there something going on with him? Is the Duke not your real father then? Lady Barbara could be an imposter?the postman
Wow. A lot of work went into this alternative ending. Fun! Just want to say that now. Riposte coming later!…and what about this French Anjou'girl called Marie (but in reality named Messaline or Paskell) ?

…and what a dream that would be. Unfortunately she was found guilty of conspiring with pirates and condemned to death by hanging. While England and France were not exactly on the best of terms relationship-wise she was handed the authorities in Monaco with the assurance she would be executed there.
Marie envisioned being hanged in the square wearing her finest lingerie…

…or perhaps naked from back of a regal steed.

Alas that was not to be. Instead she was hanged from a gallows on the harbor dock like any other common criminal.

If there is any comfort to be made of this today the same location is occupied by yachts worth unspeakable millions…
The night before they were to arrive at the port of Tripoli to be sold as slaves Lady Barbara watched her maid Mary Gibbons fornicate with Captain Karim Assaraf Safar and was most aroused by the scene. Before he ejaculated he pushed Mary aside and replaced her vagina with Barbara’s mouth and she willing swallowed his spunk. As the three lay spent on the captain’s bed there is a commotion on the deck.
As the captain was still pulling his pants on British sailors burst into the cabin followed Barnabas Steele who shouts “There is the other ringleader” pointing at Lady Barbara! Knowing he would be in deep trouble for cooperation with the pirates when the British warship stumbled upon the pirate ship he quickly concocted a story to save his neck at the cost of some his passengers’.
What was to be Lady Barbara’s results in her arrest! What the hell is going on here? You see Steele quickly convinced the sailors that Lady Barbara and Lady Katherine conspired to seduce him and key crew members to allow the pirates to board ship so their fellow travels could be sold in the Tripoli slave markets. The other ladies seeing that the rescuers were buying Steele’s yarn followed Lady Pru’s lead confirming Steele’s story!
Ladies Barbara and Katherine were placed in the ship’s brig and a light frigate raced ahead to England to inform the Duke of Cruxton and Barbara’s mother Lady Margaret of this amazing turn of events while the heavier battleship plodded behind. Before reaching the Liverpool harbor the ship dropped anchor and was met by another frigate that transferred dignitaries, including Lady Barbara’s parents, and the king’s barristers onto the ship. The naval tribunal’s sentence of death by hanging for treason were not only reaffirmed the Duke of Cruxton demanded his daughter and her co-conspirator be slow hanged from a yardarm of the ship and both Barbara’s and Katherine’s names and titles be struck from any government and church registries!
In the morning the two women were allowed to dress surprisingly modestly. With wrists bounds behind their backs they were brought onto the main deck to suffer their sentences.

Barbara could not believe her parents were there to see her hang! It only got worse. The thick nooses were placed around their delicate necks. Barbara whispers to Katherine that she almost peed. Katherine replied “I just did!”
Maid Mary circles the two doomed women and notes they are grossly overdress for their executions. She jerks Katherine’s blouse off her shoulders baring her breasts. With a giggle she says “Now you look like the pirate whore that you are!”

Barbara yells “Leave her alone!”
“Oh, I will” Maid Mary replies. “You seem a tad over-dressed yourself, Lady Barbara.”
She rips Barbara’s blouse off her shoulders exposing her breasts. She suggests Barbara’s and Katherine’s sentences be read and the two traitors of the Crown of England be hanged.

“Barbara, just shut up” Katherine says. “Every time you talk things get worse.”
This trend will end here as strong sailors hoist the two ladies from the deck.

Barbara’s last thought was ‘We didn’t see Rome’. Perhaps for another thread…

…the Duke of Cruxton and Lady Margaret remained married though the Duke spent most of his sexual energy with Lady Prudence and Lady Margaret took comfort with the maid Mary.
Captain Steele would be captured by the survivors of his escaped crew and be thoroughly buggered then hanged and the while hanged be thoroughly buggered…
For most part the voyage worked out quite well…

After several consecutive nights of being thrashed in the cellar of the family manor, she left for London where she leaked the scandalous truth about her father's nocturnal habits to a Times reporter, causing a scandal that ended the Duke’s ambitions for public office.
Far from it, he'd have been given a seat in the Cabinet and life membership of all the top London clubs -THE DUKE OF CRUXTON - Was never appointed Foreign Minister after being caught in flagrante delicto with a French whore in the pay of Napoleon by a reporter for the Times, acting on a tip from the Duke's estranged first daughter. The scandal ended his chances for public office,
he deserve a pardon.Geeze Tree!!!!
That rings true. Not that he'd have been bothered about being penniless,Late in life he became a denizen of the most notorious casinos in Europe, where he frittered away the family fortune on gambling, women and liquor. He died penniless.
The Assaraf family bank in Rabat made him a loan with no interest under Islamic law (just some up-front fees). They ended up with title to Cruxton Manor upon the Duke's passing. I will leave it to your imagination to describe the goings-on thereThat rings true. Not that he'd have been bothered about being penniless,
just a whole queue of creditors - from wine-merchants to brothel-mistresses -
were hammering at the lawyers' big front door while his state funeral went past.
LADY BARBARA - her father, the Duke, was furious with her for besmirching the family name by carrying on with infidels. After several consecutive nights of being thrashed in the cellar of the family manor, she left for London where she leaked the scandalous truth about her father's nocturnal habits to a Times reporter, causing a scandal that ended the Duke’s ambitions for public office.
MARY - Went to Rabat, married Karim, and had nine children with him. She never returned to England and died in Rabat surrounded by her numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A truly outstanding addition to the CF library. I consider it one of the best Moore/Goldman collaborations (I think I've already said that somewhere here) thus far. Strength to strength seems to be a trend. I don't think I'm alone in thinking this.
"A great read and very stimulating." - Glasgow Herald.
See?
Some extremely good sensual/erotic writing in the context of the story was a highlight for me - that scene with Barbara losing her virtue to the Sehzade will stick with me for a while, but it was all the more effective because of the finely crafted story into which it fit seamlessly.
Very well done! It deserves my highest praise - La Palme de Jollyrei.

Oh well, Lord Wragg. Easy come, easy go. I suppose you might consider controlling your temper, but where's the fun in that, eh?
No doubt she took quite quickly to the "true faith" what with it's requirements that she serve her husband in the manner she was inclined to do anyway, and she would likely have changed her name to Mariam.
