The male is Irving Klaw, BP's producer/photographer for most of her career.

In 1957 the Irving Klaw’s Bettie Page photos were investigated by the Kefauver Hearings of the U.S.A. Senate Subcommittee on Juvenile Delinquency. The hearing tried to link – unsuccessfully – pornography with juvenile delinquency. The Senate committee called Klaw a “degenerate pornographer.” Bettie Page was summoned to the hearings but was never called to testify and soon afterwards she retired from modelling. Klaw closed his business and burned most of his 6000 negatives. However, his sister Paula secretly kept some of the better images.

In the late 1980s, Klaw slowly started to print and sell Page photos again.

Fantastic gadgets and meta-humor had been to take front stage in the previous "Diamonds are Forever". They would become the real stars of the Roger Moore films.
Also taking front stage was a newcomer named Jane Seymour. She was a 22 year old who had mostly done British TV when she was cast as the psychic Solitaire; the girl Bond is still with at the end of the film.
