Chapter Two – Aisha Dreams of her Future

Aisha awoke from her midday nap (common custom to escape the searing midday heat) feeling very happy and very nervous. Her dear father had told her this morning that she would be married. He had chosen Abdullah, the heir to the Sheikh of the largest tribe in the area. Aisha had met all three candidates (and they had met and been enchanted by her) and Abdullah was the youngest and most handsome and most kind. Although such marriages were always arranged by the parents, the willing consent of the couple was required by Islamic Law. For the Prophet, alayhi s-salām, said: "A virgin may not be married without her permission." Though apprehensive of the responsibilities of marriage, Aisha liked Abdullah and gave her permission.

In many ways, Aisha, though a woman of marriageable age, was more an innocent child than a woman. Since her mother died when she was ten, she had been raised in seclusion. Her father and Abbadi were the only men she had ever met before her suitors had been brought in (under close chaperoning) to meet her. This was common practice for a Sheikh’s daughter, though, normally, the girl’s mother would have guided her daughter in the passage from childhood to adulthood. Aisha had been raised by slave-maids who taught her only the elements of domestic arts suitable for a Sheikh’s daughter. The only other skill she had learned was the old custom in her tribe of Raqs sharqi (Arabic Dance – often called in the West, Belly Dance). Her mother, who was renowned in the whole region as the most authentic dancer of this folklore, had taught this to her daughter. Aisha had learned so quickly and so well, that her father had allowed her to continue the skill as an asset to a young marriageable woman.

As a child and later, young woman, Aisha had always had modest costumes for her dance. But, now, with marriage just around the corner, Omar had permitted her to design and have her maids sew a traditional, and far more revealing outfit. She had tried it on the other day and was reminded again of how her body had matured into that of a woman. With that thought, Aisha had wondered about the “talk” her father had promised her soon about the ways of a man and a woman.

Great continuation :) seems like Aisha is old enough (and shapely enough) to start twerking for a living:facepalm::p

Some potential belly dance costumes for the lovely Aisha.... :p
Thank You. Konstantin Razumov, one of my favorites -:clapping::very_hot::babeando:) does an almost perfect job of depicting the sensual harem girl. I might ask the readers, which one seems closest to Aisha in their imagination?
