Here is an example.The Pear of Anguish - a pair shaped instrument that was inserted into one of the victims orifices a woman's vagina , the anus of a gay man or mouth of liars. The instrument consisted of four leaves that slowly separated as the screw was turned at the top

The Judas Cradle - A medieval torture where the victim would be placed on top of a pyramid shape seat. The victim's feet were tied to each other in a way in that moving 1 leg would force the other to move as well increasing pain. The triangular shaped end was inserted into the victims vagina or anus. This could last for hours or days

Considering the decoration of the handgrip, justice in those days clearly made an effort to have its suspects tortured by nicely handcrafted instruments. Quality was an important issue then.

The iron chair - A fire would be built under the seat, the spikes in the seat were painful , the heat beneath the seat would literally begin to roast the women alive. The torturer could also turn screws in the victims hands and feet to cause more pain

The Spanish Donkey - This device would force the naked female victim to straddle a sharp angle, weights were tied to her ankles, causing the wedge to painfully press into her genitals. Depending on the added weight, women could be cut in half during the process or just slowly tortured over an extended period of time.
