Problems Starting Up.

I am trying to say "Hello". When I click on the link to do so, nothing seems to happen. Also, I am being asked to put in my avatar. When I logged on for the first time, an avatar was already in place! A member of staff has removed it, but now I cannot seem to be able to paste my new one in. I have clicked on "Show me how to do it", but nobody seems to be getting back to me about it. Any suggestions? Cruxmeister.
