There are a number of reasons superheroes (and villains) wear skintight costumes. For instance, the classic Superman look was taken from the way circus and sideshow strongmen dressed a century or so ago.

But one of the main reasons is that it’s easier a draw a nude than a clothed figure. Most comic book superheroes are therefore brightly colored nudes. And when it comes to heroines and villainesses, owing to my cisgender drives I don’t have a problem with that.
