I think if she was going to be dirty with pubic hair, she'd have already been that way after five months or so that she's already been kept in a cell between crucifixions. Looks like Balbus's crew must give her a scrubbing and pluck her between the legs from time to time when she gets a bit scruffy-looking down there.
A deft application of an open flame will also bare the loins without damaging her tender part...
 
The last set of pics I posted showed Lucilla working to get her right foot up on the side of the lower crossarm, hoping to use that for support to relieve her arms and shoulders, at least until they rope her feet to the cross. The question was, would she have truly been able to go from there to get her left foot up on the other crossarm? I played around with it, and I think I worked out how she might have done that.

With the bit of support she could get from her right foot, she should have been able to lift herself up some using her arms. From there, she should be able to swing her left leg across and work her foot onto the crossarm. That would look something like this:



Which leaves her with her genitals as exposed as they possibly could be, vulnerable and helpless to hinder anything that the executioner might choose to do to her now. Which is what we will see in the next scene.

For the final crucifixion, which will be her execution, will she be fixed to a T or X cross?

I haven't written that story, so it can be anything I want. I think it should be something special and perhaps unique, but within reason for the time period. We know that the Romans sometimes used taller crosses for those they wanted to make a particular example of, like the man that Caesar Galba had crucified on a tall cross painted white. The only styles of cross I'm aware of from history are the "T" and "X" types, but the Romans liked variety. I'm sure I could come up with something else for Lucilla.

Some other possibilities:

Rope her to the cross for a couple of days, then nail her feet, and after maybe another day, nail her wrists, so that her time on the cross is drawn out even further. By this time, she's already been crucified eleven times, so she's spent maybe thirty or more days on a cross and can last longer this final time.

Create a particularly cruel sedile/cornu for her, or change the sedile out daily for a crueler one so that each day's torture becomes worse.

Do other things to her?

Etc.

Crucifixion has to have an erotic aspect or else it doesn't interest me, so I won't be doing anything to her that involves cutting things off or beating her to a pulp. And bear in mind that Lucilla is just an encounter for Sabina in The Serpent's Eye, and this is all we see of her at this point. I never intended to take her further than this, although I could. But it would be hard to make twelve crucifixions of the same girl interesting to read about; there would have to be another story intertwined with it to make it work.

Most of the pictures I've posted here are ones I didn't use as illustrations in the story - just too many of them so I tried to pick out the best ones. There are also some scenes that I've posted that I didn't illustrate at all in the story, but went back later and did them.
 
With both of her feet up on the sides of the lower crossbars, Lucilla is totally exposed and vulnerable to whatever the executioners might choose to do to her at this point. And of course Antius is not going to let this opportunity pass; Balbus wouldn't want him to - he has to do it to satisfy the crowd, if for nothing else. Sabina describes what she saw:

With her legs spread as far as she could manage, she looked for all the world like a girl at the height of passionate foreplay who begs her lover to enter her. After being crucified five times, Lucilla was far beyond giving any thought to modesty.

All of her defiance began to wilt in the face of her growing pain, and she began to beg them to tie her feet. What Antius did to her next took her mind off of her pain.

Antius stood a little to the side, probably because he knew she would try to pee on him if she had the opportunity. “Lucilla,” he said, “before we tie your feet, we need to place your sedile…” As he talked, he slowly ran the tips of his fingers up the inside of her right thigh. When they arrived at her inner lips, she gasped and her eyes went wide. I think I did too, imagining his fingers between my legs, exploring my most sensitive parts.

I heard her say, “No, Antius, don’t…” She squirmed a little, but couldn’t move to escape his touch without losing her footing on the crossbeams. She must have known that any effort she made to resist would be futile. And as men always do, Antius didn’t stop, but went on with what he was doing to her.

Her body shuddered visibly and she moaned in response to his fingers lightly tracing the edges of her soft pink folds as he continued. “Remember what I said about sediles earlier, Lucilla?” His fingers lingered at the opening of her vagina, gently circling it several times. He trailed them forward between her inner lips, found her swelling clitoris and pinched it lightly between a thumb and finger, rolling it between them as he talked. Her breath caught and she closed her eyes, but didn’t protest. Another shudder shook me, and I squeezed my thighs together, imagining what that must feel like. Wanting so badly to feel it.

Her breathing was hard and rapid now, head tilted back, her eyes closed, losing herself in the sensation. Her nipples stood out hard as pebbles. Her arousal must have been heightened by her complete vulnerability; she was unable to close her legs without giving up the footholds that supported her. Her thighs quivered, maybe partly with the effort of holding herself up that way, and more with the strain of the pressure building inside her.

Her building tension seemed to radiate to the dumb-struck onlookers, who, without exception, were watching in rapt silence. The only sounds were the agonized groans of the two men they had just crucified and the cawing of crows picking at the bodies of those already dead.​

Yes, I go with this. Sometimes the more gruesome details are relevant to a story, but I'm not usually looking for that myself.

That is the extra spice here. He is not taking advantage of a woman made vulnerable entirely with nails or ropes. She has spread her own legs, she has chosen to make herself vulnerable this way to ease the pain of her nails and straining arms. She holds this position voluntarily, and suffers this indignity as a result.

Maybe she even takes some pleasure from it, trembling with the strain and building pressure.
She will probably pay the price later.

Will they nail her feet soon? This will relieve the pain of her awkward pose, but will give her new agony to deal with.

Note that she is NOT nailed! Her feet will be tied eventually, but I've drawn the story out so that believe it or not, there are eight more scenes to get her feet fully tied.

Yes, she is taking pleasure from what Antius is doing to her, despite her protests when he began touching and fondling her. The word "clitoris" after all is said to derive from the Greek word κλειτορίς, kleitoris, which has "key" as one of its meanings. If that's true, it's certainly the key that has unlocked feelings in Lucilla in this case.

As far as paying the price later, we shall soon see! :devil:

The old man known as "Oak" tells the young Phlebas the relief comes not from the pain of her awkward pose but it is no longer her choice to be exposed so profanely!

It is strange what comforts the young women find...

Lucilla is lost in pleasure as Antius gently pinches and rolls her clitoris, her breath coming rapid and harder. The onlookers are forgotten, and her vulnerable position on the cross actually adds to the deepening sensation and the growing pressure within her. Her hips strain forward, pressing her tingling sex towards him, desperate for more.

Her shock is complete when pleasure suddenly becomes agony.



Antius was talking to her about giving her a sedile to rest on. Now that he's got her attention, he tells her that she WILL respect him or else suffer the consequences. Pinching her clitoris, the most sensitive part of her body, is just a sample.



He makes it clear to her that now, she'll have to ask him for a sedile, showing proper respect, or she may not get anything to rest on.



Sabina describes what she saw and heard as Antius talked to Lucilla:

“Well, I should set one in place for you now, but I’m not going to do it unless you beg me to and show me some respect. You’re mine now and I can leave you to hang with nothing at all to rest on for days. Do you understand me?” He gave her clitoris a sudden hard pinch and shook it to emphasize. Her body twisted and stiffened as she yelped in pain, she lost her foothold on one side and then the other, and her arms were suddenly jerked taut as her body fell. When Antius released the pressure on her clitoris and took his hand away, her grimace of pain relaxed and her head sagged forward. I shared her disappointment, but at least I could finish later, whereas she might not.​
