That would certainly attract a congregation.I did always wonder if during Easter they did the stations of the cross or a passion play.
But today (Sept 8th) is the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary -
might be a bit more difficult?

I used to really enjoy the passions in church. I'm embarrassed to say how much they turned me on. They were long, but I would love to imagine being there at each station of the cross. By the time they got to the stripping, I was so turned on by the description. I was raised Catholic and they would say right out in the readings at the stations in church, that Jesus was stripped naked and stood naked and ashamed. It would fascinate me as a child and it still does now.
That would certainly attract a congregation.

They had realisitic statues of each station that still stand out in my mind. None of them were full nudes, but several were close to it that left little to the imagination
It's so true!!! I just commented on another thread how realistic the statues and art are in churches and how the artists must have known the eroticism they were creating.
Eroticism in religious art is pretty universal. These are from Khajurao, a temple in South India. I lack the gymnastic ability to even think about these positions.

I'm sorry Portugal, not South America. The look on the spectators faces leads me to believe it is a realistic passion play

I didn't really translate, just the internet country code and .br is Brazil. "groupo de Jovens" is "youth group".Windar, Thank you so much. I was having trouble with the translation.
Oh, and for the ladies who thought they were going to be left out of the passion play. Guess again!!! The guards have come for you!!!View attachment 417868

I like the angle of the shot. The view from the base of the cross with the crowd looking up at the victim. Nothing but the bare legs, leaving to the imagination, what is the victim wearing? Or not. Do you have any others?I have been searching the web looking for a realistic Passion Play and this one looked pretty good. Unfortunately it's in south americaView attachment 417788
It does look like a good passion play. The 2 whips on the ground, the woman on the left with the white shirt looking down at the victim. I'm not sure if its a look of concern, pity or contempt. The look on the spectators faces leads me to believe it is a realistic passion play
