Spotted as a Rockette she was signed by MGM - played Judy Garland's
sister in "Meet Me in St Louis" and was on her way to rapid major stardom.

which tanked, so of course they blamed her - "she wasn't ready...too young" etc.

And the MGM execs (including Louis B Mayer) who had spotted her and rushed to
sign her... just as quickly showed her the door.
Her career - start to finish - lasted about four years. Lucille left the business.
She married, had kids and was mildly successful in business.
Years went by and nothing was heard of Lucille until...
For some reason she decided to pose for Alfred Cheney Johnston.
Another Beautiful Girl - baisée by Hollywood.
