There is nothing like it in the world. My MASTER follows the Roman practice of handing the victim over to "vulgarians" who sexually abuse him prior to the actual crucifixion. It is a favorite of mine also, and I apologize to PhilX for taking a few liberties. Along with the toil and sweat of the death dance as the sun reflects onto the prisoners off the quarry walls, I like the scene of paying spectators torturing the helpless muscular hunts. In this case a syrup or honey mixture strategically placed on the exposed genitalia, chest and face. the bees, wasps other vermin harbor age there and partake in the sweet mixture. If the prisoners struggle and try to ward them off they are of course stung by the angered critters. And that torture spear, endless possibilities with that.

This is, certainly, a very powerful image.
But to me it suggests a different scenario. For me, I am the figure on the left. Already half naked. And I am about to ask for a cross for myself. I am totally frightened, but I want o join the other men crucified. I want to share with them the crucifixion.
