It was especially nice to see that second goal - that way, Germany couldn't justify their loss by saying it was just a penalty. France got off to a relatively lacklustre start but seemed to improve as the game went on. Towards the end, Germany actually looked like they wanted to do something - it's a pity that the only time Germany show any flair is when they fall behind. If they had done that right from the start, rather than their usual slow and tactical back-passing all the time, then perhaps the result may have been different, so it's really their own fault. They're good enough to win games in 90 minutes rather than playing cat and mouse all the way in the hope that it'll go to extra time so they can win on penalties.

Well done to France for playing a good, exciting game, and good luck for the final on Sunday!
