Hair and Nails
Well, I have had a fanbox for some time, mostly just collecting dust. I've been on that commission grind, but honestly, I feel like I do better, faster work when I am pursuing my own passions, and making art that I want to see. That's not to say that I don't enjoy the commissions; I relish every one I get, and I'm working on them as often as I can! but I think it is time for me to move on to something a little more sustainable. I need a job. Rents gonna be due, and I am in the eternal struggle of getting by. I'm already making all of this art, so my question is, why not charge just a little bit for entrance. There will still be free stuff. Anything commissioned will still be posted publicly, but I like the idea of having an archive for the real ones. This is just a thread for one thing, and one thing only, assesing interest. Would you subscribe to a fanbox, and at what level? This will influence my decision to go forward with more fanbox posting or not.

I'd love to but the current cost of living (my weekly shopping bill has more than doubled in the last year, as have my energy costs) unfortunately precludes any additional expenditure at the moment :(

Well, and this just applies to fanbox, here's my take:
1) This is how I thank you for the past work you've shared and also encourage you to pursue whatever you enjoy the most.
2) It may cover some costs and time, but "pay the rent"? Yeah, no... Too many great digital artists and unfortunately too much piracy! Plus niche subject material.
3) Look at Renderotica and publishing "comics" for a specific price, like Skating Jesus or Avator. But even as I told SJ, publishing a 1400 page comic for a lousy $10 is NOT cost effective. Every single render consumes time and effort. And it's not quantity, but quality. I can spend an hour indulging in your artistry in your "Queen" series, far less than 1400.
4) I hope you get where I'm coming from. I love to encourage talent but as you can see from the above responses, times are tough and budgets have to be considered. A hobby, absolutely. Sustainable income, don't think so.
As your "1st fan", hope this helps.

That's basically my read as well. I'll add a bit, but I don't think I'll advertise it. Better as a tip jar of sorts. Plus, the goodwill I get from releasing so much art for free means something, I hope.

Plus Pixiv removed links to fanbox from accounts on the day you posted! So it's clear that they are cracking down on anything they see as porn or guro.

Cracking down at the behest of foreigners.
