I can't even remember any other option being available here than Ilford...Ilford was my paper of choice, though most of my chemicals were Kodak. I did really like using a bit of selenium toner!
My first camera ever was a (rather useless) Kodak pocket film thing. I think it was called Ektralite.I still have several film cameras, including a number of postwar German Contax rangefinders and associated fittings. I haven't had a film developed for years, not even sure where to go!
