So I would never drink something like that. Since many people worked in uranium mining in our area and Miners Alcohol was constantly available, the sight of white alcohol makes me sick.

actually in the 18th century. The first set of rules was published on August 16th, 1743 by Jack Broughton, an english bare-knukle boxer after the death of one of his opponents.
The London Prize Ring Rules were then used till 1888 when the rules set by Marquess of Queensberry were applied. Reading the rules (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/London_Prize_Ring_Rules) you get an idea of what boxing was before,,,

The Miner alcohol only had 38%, but we drank this stuff diluted 1/1 with cola when I had to serve in the army for 18 months. I had even built a device to reattach the crown caps to the prepared bottles so that they would not be noticed during inspections.
