On that topic, anyone know where I could find a sound file of those good old fashioned whip cracks we’d here when they lashed some poor slave or women (for a unsatisfactory 1 or 2 strokes before being interrupted by an inconvenient hero)? You hear it in films from the 50s and 60’s.

I love that sound. Like a well swung bull whip. A nice scream following the crack! Would play it to the above whipping short videos.
