Great representation: the victim's face expresses pain, distress, discomfort, sense of powerlessness to reduce suffering. In that position is only possible ... stillness and waiting for death by suffocation. Good design of the chest by now compressed.
A variation to suggest: bend knees and place a support under your feet. extends the agony. A condemned this would be well with a shaved head or a cut bowl. Humiliation and pain before death: the maximum.

That is a nice find, Anon. It touches on another of my interests, and I think it qualifies for inclusion here as crux simplex. It's also simply a nice picture

Here's an old manip of mine on a similar theme. Does this position count as reverse crux, or a variation on crux simplex?

I must admit that I do find a crucifixion on a stake with the females arms above her head very erotic. Do believe the Jehovas Witnesses believe that this is the way Christ was crucified. What they base that on I haven't a clue.
