Hornet1ba - My 3d Renderings

Go to CruxDreams.com
Seems like it has been hacked, crashed, etc. several times over the years that I can remember. I have posted a good bit here that was wiped out, like the entire Ornaments of Triumph series by Quoom, only to find it gone. Apostate was trying to re-post all of that and restore it, but then we had another crash.

I also lost a lot of posts, likes, etc. so my status does not appear as high here as it once was. I did join this site back when it was first created and we were in the process of creating the Foundation site as well.

Seems like things have been pretty stable lately, but this is an open site and people can find it on a search, unlike the Crux Foundation, which doesn't show up on searches and neither do posts there. Each site has its advantages IMHO, but there are people out there who, for whatever reason, will attack a site like this one if they know it's here.

You and Hornet have been pushing the art form and the work from both of you is very much appreciated, especially from those of us who have absolutely no talent what so ever. I hope neither of you ever feel that your work is not appreciated or that it somehow lacks status!

Night time lighting experiment (inspired by _CADRE excellent night time art)
Aurelia again left to suffer on her cross....
Its the same exact scene only the light are different.

I love those hornet, very dramatic!
#2 (night time 3) shows a small problem that I remember Ascanio encountered
when we were working together on illustrated stories -
her back teeth show up a bit too brightly!
They're about right in the other two, but that one's in heaviest shadow,
and they catch a bit too much light.

That's a problem you get using Poser figures with lights that are set not to cast shadows - they don't cast shadows on the inside of the mouth, nostrils, etc. either, so you see back teeth, glowing nostrils and so on. Digital lighting can be set to do all kinds of things that real physical lighting can't.

It does not take much with 3d digital art to remove the illusion of pseudo reality:just a small mistake in any setting and your eyes are drawn to it!

In this case i was able to correct the glowing inner mouth by setting the surface "ambient color" from white to black

Surprised that the ambient color wasn't black already! In any case, that's a big improvement.

I really love your work!

One of my favourite series was "Domitia", a Roman noblewoman whipped and crucified by her slaves while her villa burns in the background. Is there any chance of seeing it again?

Not that old, Hornet...you posted it on the Foundation 6th November 2013 but the pictures are now lost.

I have not been to the Foundation, but I know I have seen some pictures from this series. Nice to see some of the others. Thanks.

There seem to be a gap in this thread:from August 2012 up to December 2014 all the postings are gone.
Probably in a crash of this site.

Domitia or Maya from my archives(2013)
