I agree, and I'm old enough to know.I’d peg these as "Eisenhower era women prefer women."

In #3 the lady Doctor needs to brush up on her anatomy. That's not where the heart is.Ladies generally prefer a lady doctor

Yeah.... it proves people really did have sex back in those days. There's something tremendously special about vintage nudes
Yes.There's something tremendously special about vintage nudes
Otherwise we wouldn't be hereYeah.... it proves people really did have sex back in those days.
Yeah.... it proves people really did have sex back in those days.
That would follow.Otherwise we wouldn't be here
Mind you, women have always had time to love women, and yet our species endures.
Enough of them, I suppose. You've heard the expression "Lie back and think of England" ? Such women always did their duty to the nation and the species
Yes, of course. But as a kid growing up in the 50's in conservative rural America, is was a taboo subject. My lame humor was in reference to that.Otherwise we wouldn't be here
I hadn't thought about it in that way, but you're right of course. And I agree about the 60's hair styles. Beehive hairdo anyone?Human culture cyclical, it's not a straight progressive line. Yes, the 50s and early 60s were hyper-conservative sexually, but the 20s and 30s were not. Before 1933 films were full of nudity and sexual themes. Premaritial sex was common and even homosexuality was covered. In the world, it was a very similar state that we are in right now. Between WWI and WWII there was a big sexual revolution, which resulted in a lot of the same things we do today, such as lesbianism, threeways, and shaving genitals. There will always be a backlash when the pendulum swings too far one way. Too conservative and humanity pulls liberal, too liberal and humanity pulls conservative. And the cycle goes on.
In either case, I really have taste for the women of the 30s-50s. (20s and 60s had horrible hairstyles haha). There's something about natural women without plastic surgery that are neither starvingly thin or morbidly obese (the two extremes of which are far too common today) with their genuine smiles and classy outfits that really works.
Mmmm .... I've always wondered in what possible universe anybody could have considered the bouffant styles, and the beehive in particular, attractive. The 60's was a dark forbidding decade for hair.I hadn't thought about it in that way, but you're right of course. And I agree about the 60's hair styles. Beehive hairdo anyone?View attachment 1030140
And bikinis.Mmmm .... I've always wondered in what possible universe anybody could have considered the bouffant styles, and the beehive in particular, attractive. The 60's was a dark forbidding decade for hair.
That said, it was at the same decade as the first see-through blouses and micro mini-skirts, so it did have some redeeming features.
Some women could pull it off.I hadn't thought about it in that way, but you're right of course. And I agree about the 60's hair styles. Beehive hairdo anyone?View attachment 1030140
That delicious creature could pull off about anything she wanted. Some women could pull it off.
Elke Sommer comes to mind.
Well, at age 14 that very picture did at once confirm and cement my cisgender sexuality, so yeah. That delicious creature could pull off about anything she wanted.
Out of context comic panels.
