If she doesn't pass, she'll be put on a regime of strenuous exercise and a strictly controlled diet, and when she's in top shape, then she'll be crucified.

Oh, yes, a health club. Do they get a massage after the workout to ease sore muscles, too, Phlebas? Who's paying for all this? Not the billionaires and pretend billionaires, that's for sure, as we are seeing. But, between you and your health club and Tree and his top-of-the-line gallows, someone will have to.

I say, if these women need some toning up (and I'm not sure they do), have them do something useful like clearing jungle.

I agree, being fit is good. This is why I workout regularly, so I will look good on the cross

Ok, a couple of quite nice hanging themed pics. There is something about the girl walking away from us, hands bound behind her, another clothed woman guiding her. Is there sympathy there? Or callous efficiency?

And the other, two girls wait with necks noosed, bound and naked. The man behind them gives a useful contrast in size, in helplessness. He has a job to do, and they have only one way out of here.
