QUAESTOR PULCHRITUDINIS
Oh, I am so enjoying this scene from my location here at the South Gate
I have a great view, and I am not leaving.

That's beautiful work, Repertor. The most vivid scenes, and the most compelling, to me at least, are always the transition points. Placing the patibulum on the shoulders. First view of the execution ground. Stripping the clothes. And being placed on the cross. Those are key, but so rarely represented in pictures.
Very, very well put Jollyrei! That's beautiful work, Repertor. The most vivid scenes, and the most compelling, to me at least, are always the transition points. Placing the patibulum on the shoulders. This image is so subtly perfect. The look of shock as Jasmine realizes she's about to leave her feet forever. Not quite ready. Terrified. The "attendants" not really being violent, but holding her arms firmly (two hand holds - really nice touch) and moving things along. It's almost more horrific that they don't hate her - just doing their jobs, efficiently. She has as much hope of influencing them to stop as a mouse on the tracks can stop a freight train. She may cry out, but she's going backwards and down, onto the wood.
She felt the rough wood of the cross against her back, and then they pulled her arms out onto the patibulum, holding them in a vice like grip.

Her mind was a whirl of conflicting and amplified emotions: arousal and terror; excitement and dread; pride and humiliation. She trembled as she gazed up into a beautiful, cloudless blue sky. The gentle wind caressed her naked breasts. Was this some kind of erotic dream? Was she really laying naked on a cross, watched by strangers, and about to be nailed to it? Would she wake up in her bed in a moment as the ever-cheerful Rebecca came into her room bidding her to rise and shine?

Thanks Hornet, well, you know a thing or two about a good illustrated story!Good job Wragg and Repertor its good to see and read a good illustrated story!
View attachment 362114 Wow, "naked on a cross, watched by strangers, and about to be nailed to it" ... I think you have captured the moment with this one Repertor! I can feel the wind caressing my breasts and tumescent nipples, and rippling through the fine hairs of my bush .. and the emotions are all there too ... "arousal and terror, excitement and dread, pride and (especially in this view) exposed humiliation."
Barb, you really capture Jasmine's emotions as she lies there, and Jollyrei captures mine and, I hope, others as we see how Repertor lifts Jasmine from the printed page and makes her into someone we can believe in.
I don't think so, somehow.
Very intense section - heart thumping. The illustrations are exquisite. One can tell that you're into the story - the care that went into the pictures is apparent. A great match of text and image.
I'm completely sympathetic and appalled, but I can't stop watching. She started so brave and determined, but now reality hits her and she's unsure and terrified, still trying to do the right thing, even though the decision is out of her hands now.
You can feel the tension in these pictures. She felt the rough wood of the cross against her back, and then they pulled her arms out onto the patibulum, holding them in a vice like grip.

Mine!Jollyrei captures mine and, I hope, others
What a great story and brilliant images. The third one here is the ultimate. That brief respite, almost surreal moment before her nailing, strong hands holding her down, rough wood against her back and blue sky above, but soon the torment will commence. She felt the rough wood of the cross against her back, and then they pulled her arms out onto the patibulum, holding them in a vice like grip.

You don't waste any time, Madiosi! But it's Wragg's story. I am only the illustrator.
Maybe....You don't waste any time, Madiosi! But it's Wragg's story. I am only the illustrator.
Wouldn't it be better like this:
WRAGG
JASMINE
Illustrations: Repertor
Both are fine for me.
Repertor and I going to have to battle this out....I think you original version was perfect, Madiosi!
Feel free to suggest a graphics for the book. It is not yet final and the graphic quickly replaced.Repertor and I going to have to battle this out....I think you original version was perfect, Madiosi!
Repertor posted a picture of Jasmine holding a knife, I'll find it this evening when I have more time. Would that act as less of a spoiler than one of the crucifixion pictures?
...and why the hell Repertor only an 'Assistant executioner'?!?!?!You can't stop watching and I can't stop doing. That's the way to keep busy.
Coming from you that's great praise. Thanks Hornet.
Mine!
I never thought about that. I'll have to do it now....and why the hell Repertor only an 'Assistant executioner'?!?!?!
