The mechanics of movement of a victim crucified with a "fifth nail" ("A") is interesting... However the freedom of movement is restricted comparing to the "four nails crucifixion" ("C") and the lower half of body has no much possibility to move (except spreading legs apart or keeping knees pressed to the pole), the upper part can swing and bend magnifying pain in hands and crotch ("B" & "D").

Andy, I like your drawings and your comments because you're the alone who dares tell the truth about crucifixion here !
For you, no beauty in it but only an horrible pain till an horrible death with the greatest sufferings !

Interesting and inventive pics. The ladder leaning on the victim, an added and casual cruelty.
I like the crowd pics. I can't help feeling that most would look, especially at a woman, but it is interesting to speculate just how much this may have been a common and unremarkable sight. Crucified in a public place like this, naked and suffering, humiliated and displayed, as people go about their daily business. There is something very dismissive and dehumanising about it on one hand, and yet the power is in the reality, that these poor people are all too human. Imagine rising on shuddering legs to take a breath, blood seeping from the nail holes, your body and it's functions on public display, while around you people haggle over cloth or buy bread for dinner.

Exactly, that's how I see the crucifixion. And it is very surprising that one can dream about living in Roman era and being crucified himself/herself... Especially surprising for me - because I am no exception... If I were a woman... and lived 2000 years ago...

I cannot agree. In the historical sources we have evidence, maybe the documents are few but they are absolutely clear, and they confirmed that the women were crucified if they deserved it (or during the mass crucifixions). The clue is that having rather low social position they rarely could do something deserving crucifixion. But if they were condemned, they were treated no better than men- with no distinction. And - assuming the loss of virginity before execution required by the laws - perhaps they were treated worse.

The third drawing shows the condemned nailed to the sedile by the genitals. If I am right, some of the ancient authors mentioned something of a kind, but I am not sure if it was the account of a real fact or his own fantasy only. On the fourth sketch I tried to realise how would it work while applied to a male and female victim.

The last of drawings is a first eye view by the "good thief", looking at the just being nailed "queen of five nails".

Gang raped, extremely scourged, thorns crowned, nailed through her wrists, feet and genitals with rude brutality and having her breast pierced, the female victim weeps and sobs in agonizing pain. She deserved it - as a titulus says, she is "a whore who called herself a queen of heaven". Let's see if some angel will come and save her...
