As the main part (the part that the whipper holds) is loaded with lead shot, it should require less effort to apply.

I think that the keyword is "effective". Wielding a bullwhip requires a degree of skill (possibly acquired by practice, not necessarily on a live victim).

Without the skill, a bullwhip is about as effective as a wet rag.

I also have a weighted signal whip, about 5’ long, it’s an excellent device to whip human flesh. I’ve heard people can make the mistake of opting for a much longer bullwhip which does require more skill to wield properly (and safely) compared to our signal whip. But because MASTER is a more experienced user of floggers, we actually spent a lot of time understanding the whip and indeed arranged a live tutorial so he could really Master it, with me as target. Such care paid off as he’s given such wonderful sessions using it, and only caused a single scar by accident. And boy can He crack it!

An idea for making a “cat of nine tales” whip and one I saw in action a few years ago and that is using parachute cord instead of leather thongs. In use it is probably less damaging than a leather one.

My Judith was learning with a professional, so she could use of a long signal'whip which is, I thing, more exciting for me ... Nothing can subtitute this deep feeling to be entirely taken by the lash and at the end severely bitten by the cracker !
