I suppose the only "deviant" aspect of DevianArt was their blatant disinterestedness in freedom of expression after all.
It feels surprising for a website which has made its reputation mostly from the remarkable diversity and boldness its members have shown in expressing their art.

When you upload something, you can allocate tags to it that describe the content. DA's search engine will then index these. I would guess that there is now a bot hunting down images (and texts, eventually) which have been tagged in certain ways. For instance, BartNel has tagged his latest image with 'torturebondage' (along with other, far less problematic descriptions).
Well shit, now I’m feeling left out . Come on DA you moralistic priggish assholes, ban me too!
This is pretty much why I have never posted any of my work on DA. I've been a member there for a long long time and I always felt there was a possible threat. I want to keep my membership!
I hope they don't ban people based on their favourites and watched artists, then I would be in trouble!

So mass untagging might serve as some protection?
Hopefully in the case of a few offending pieces among a much larger repertoire, DA will just strike them, or warn the artist too.
